Natureza (portuguese: Nature) is a Brazilian-based coffee company (both roastery and cafes), which focuses on developing more consciousness around coffee and it’s daily sustainable production and usage. Natureza supports sustainability with local coffee farmers around South America, through core values such as Love, peace, open-mindedness, and respect towards Mother Earth and all Creatures.
Mission & Challenges
The main idea in collaboration with Natureza was to develop a fully organic and sustainable packaging, both for pouches, cups and boxes. Besides the design challenges, we had to figure out which recyclable materials to use, to still keep the good quality and with the ability to print something beautiful on top of it.
The Output
For the pouches and cups, we ended up choosing and creating the packaging based on biodegradable capabilities, such as polylactide – a compostable material made from renewable plant starch materials. Also, the boxes and inside papers are fully recyclable as they are made from recycled office waste paper.
Design-related, we turned an abstract idea of coffee bean into the logo, which is based on the coffee bean outline, coffee steam and letter N. We decided to pair the logo with the colorful (where possible) leaves to resemble the Nature and South America lands. Labels stay the same, where only the coffee name changes, which are done with different colors and unique wordmarks.

By getting an adequate design, we helped them to grow 188% in sales, in comparison with the 1st month they launched. Along with that, they already partnered with 7 cafes and plan to open their own soon.
